For over 30 years, Duncan Rugs has been a trusted name in the flooring industry. Today Duncan Rugs is Ireland’s leading importer and distributor of commercial quality machine and handmade rugs from around the world.

Duncan Rugs was founded by David Duncan to distribute a range of sheepskin products.  David was a well-known member of the flooring trade for over 40 years - latterly as UK sales manager of Spence Bryson Carpets in Bangor. He brought his philosophy of integrity, honesty and straight – dealing to the new venture, and from the outset the business flourished.

From these very humble days of stocking sheepskins in the family garage, Duncan Rugs has continued to grow and now employs 20 people at its custom built distribution centre in Newtownards, Co. Down. This warehouse of over 25,000 sq.feet has a capacity of over 20,000 rugs and enables customers from Malin Head to Mizen Head to be serviced with prompt and regular deliveries.

Duncan Rugs have formed joint ventures in China and Turkey and have offices in Panipat, Haryana, India,to source and control the best “Value for Money” products from these areas.  All ranges are carefully monitored with quality being regularly checked from yarn procurement to final packing.  This ensures the maximum consistency of quality. 

With these operations, and long standing relationships with all of Belgium’s leading manufacturers, Duncan Rugs can offer one of the widest product ranges in the UK and Ireland.

Today, Duncan Rugs is still a family run company with David’s son Alistair as Managing Director.  He continues to run the company adhering to his father’s principles of integrity and honesty resulting in ‘Profit through Partnership.’
